Medicine feeder warning

medicine feederThe Medicines and Health-care products Regulatory Agency has issued a press release, warning parents and carers of babies or young children to stop using the ‘First Steps’ medicine feeder imported by RSW International Ltd.

The product poses a risk to babies or young children as the measuring scales are confusing and could be inaccurate. A six month old baby was admitted to hospital with a serious overdose as a result of receiving too much medicine using this feeder.

The MHRA have stated that the safety, quality or performance of the feeder has not been assessed to the current standard and that parents or carers who have this product in their home are strongly advised to stop using it and throw it away.
